After years of wishing and hoping, the groundbreaking for the new Roosevelt Branch Library is scheduled to happen by the end of the month. Last fall the Duchesne County Library Director Daniel Mauchley shared that the new library will have a community center focus. “The current library is less than 5,000 square feet,” shared Mauchley. “The schematic design for the new library is 16,700 square feet. Many new spaces are being added based on public meetings, surveys, and focus groups held in late 2018. First is a 3,000 square feet community room that can be divided into two smaller rooms.” Plans include space for public events in addition to the library events. Roosevelt Branch Librarian Stephen Moon shared that the groundbreaking for the new Roosevelt library is scheduled for Tuesday, July 27th at 10am.
