Safety needs to be the top priority as citizens head outdoors this summer. Ashley National Forest has shared a timely reminder stating that “if you are heading to Flaming Gorge Reservoir to recreate please be careful and aware of underwater hazards as the reservoir is lowered this summer. A location that was safe yesterday may not be passable today as the water level lowers daily.” It is also important to exercise caution when outdoors as extreme heat can lead to heat stroke, heat cramps, heat exhaustion, dehydration, and death. Anyone can be at risk, but some are more vulnerable, including pregnant women, people with heart or lung conditions, young children, older adults, athletes, and outdoor workers.
