There was no shortage of patriotic celebrations in the Uintah Basin over the weekend but one event is getting some extra attention on social media. The fireworks show by Ashley Acres Lights & Pyro, as part of the Freedom Festival in Vernal, figuratively as well as quite literally blew everyone away but was it really a grander show? In a word, YES! Thanks to many generous sponsors, the commercial fireworks show in Vernal on July 3rd was significantly bigger than normal. Kevin Devoll of Ashley Acres shared the following breakdown with Evans Family Media on the Freedom Fest 2021 Fireworks show: There were 41 cases of product weighing 4,237 pounds. The effect count was 3,664 breaks which included 1,772 individual premium aerial shells ranging from 2 inches to 5 inches. “That’s over three times the shell count from last year’s event,” explains Devoll. There were also 82 gun racks mounted on a 30 foot trailer and 72 multi shot cakes firing from 4 positions. Based on the widespread praise for the powerfully patriotic show, all involved deserve a huge thank you for this memorable gift to the community!
