Uintah County is kicking off the holiday weekend in style Friday night by blocking off downtown Vernal and hosting a massive Independence Day Block Party complete with a full-scale patriotic concert. The stage will be set up right on Vernal Avenue and Highway 40 making it something that has never been done before to this extent. This family event is thanks to a partnership between Uintah County, Vernal City, and Evans Family Media. It will feature the band Little Texas at a seriously discounted price thanks to the leaders of Uintah County and Vernal City who wanted everyone to be able to come enjoy a fun and safe celebration. “It’s a gift they are providing to our community,” shares Steve Evans of Evans Family Media. “It’s a time we can come together as a community to celebrate our Independence, our freedoms, and life in a small town.” Evans, who has decades of experience planning large scale concert events, says the value of this concert is about three times what the ticket price is. “We know there are people that will sneak in because downtown is a very hard venue to secure,” shares Evans, “but we are hopeful that because the price of the ticket is so low, people won’t be incentivized to do that. Ticket prices were intentionally dropped from being already discounted at $20 to $10 so that everyone in our community who wanted to go would be able to afford it.” A wristband to be worn at the event will serve as your ticket. Please remember that there are no coolers and no tents allowed into the venue. Please bring your own lawn chair and come enjoy this special concert event! Gates open at 6:30pm and the concert starts at 7:00 pm. Get tickets at www.BasinNow.com, Davis Food and Drug, Downtown Auto Group, or when you arrive at the event tomorrow evening!
