The Utah Department of Health has recently shared concerning a new fraud. Apparently there have been individuals producing and presenting mask exemption cards that have the state of Utah seal on them. These fakes have been circulated to businesses and schools. To be clear, the state of Utah, Utah Department of Health and any local health departments do NOT provide mask exemption cards. Three exemptions are outlined in the State Public Health Order. 1.) Is for a child younger then three years old. 2.) For individuals who are unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to remove a face mask without assistance. 3.) An individual with a medical condition, mental health condition, or intellectual or developmental disability, that prevents the individual from wearing a mask.
