Utah Celebrating Statehood with Thrive 125

by | Jan 6, 2021 | News | 0 comments

125 years ago on January 4th, 1896, Utah was admitted as the 45th state of the Union. Some of the living insignias include the California gull as the state bird, the Bonneville cutthroat trout as the state fish, the Sego Lily is the state flower, and the Rocky Mountain Elk is the state mammal. The highest elevation in the state is Kings Peak in Duchesne County at 13,534 feet and Utah is the 30th most populous state and the 11th least densely populated. As part of the Thrive 125 campaign, the state will be celebrating in a variety of ways. Many citizens in the Basin enjoyed the celebration kickoff with the fireworks shows in each county on Monday evening. There are more activities already scheduled that will be online for everyone to enjoy. To learn more, visit thrive125.utah.gov and visit often to catch updates to the events available virtually and in the Uintah Basin.
