The holidays are usually the time of year that families and friends travel to visit those they have not seen for a while. COVID-19 has added some complications to such holiday travels. The best way to protect oneself is to stay home but for those that are travelling make sure to take some further actions. Be sure to visit trusted sources to understand the challenges of the areas that are to be visited. Several states and cities across the U.S. have a mandatory testing or 14-day quarantine upon arrival for those traveling from certain locations. Tips from the CDC include: wear a face covering or mask in public places anywhere you will be around other people; avoid close contact with anyone who doesn’t live in your home (stay at least 6 feet apart), wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer (with at least 60% alcohol); don’t get near anyone who is sick, try not to touch your eyes, nose, and mouth; and try not to touch surfaces many people touch.
