A postcard reminder system relied upon by thousands of car owners is going virtual. In an effort to be more responsible with taxpayer money and more eco-friendly, the Utah Division of Motor Vehicles has stopped sending reminders through the mail to motorists concerning vehicle registration. The DMV would send hundreds of thousands of postcards each month but the practice resulted in postcards being returned as undeliverable and then being destroyed. This is a friendly warning to Uintah Basin community members that they need to check when their vehicle registration is due by looking at the stickers in the corners. If a person feels that a reminder would be most useful then they can visit the DMV website and sign up for email reminders. It should also be noted that many of the DMV services can be done online. Visit their website for more information concerning those services.
