Uintah Basin kids are being asked to participate in a fun poster contest aimed at spreading awareness about the damaging effects of elevated radon gas in the home. TriCounty Health Department is who has extended the invitation to local youth for the 2020 National Radon Poster Contest, which begins October 22nd. It’s a fact, one in three Utah homes has elevated levels of radon gas and exposure can cause lung cancer. There is no entry fee. Children ages 9 to 18 are invited to create a poster submission but there is only one entry per student allowed. Submission forms, topics, rules, and relevant information can be accessed at www.radon.utah.gov. This website is also where the public will be able to vote for their favorite design.
