One Shot During Home Invasion in Roosevelt; Two Men Arrested, One At Large, Victim Hospitalized

One person was shot during a home invasion in Roosevelt on Saturday. Roosevelt Police Chief Rick Harrision shared that on August 22nd “officers were called to a residence in Roosevelt on a report of multiple gunshots fired. Officers arrived a found a male subject had been shot by another male after what appears at this point in the investigation to be an armed robbery Attempt. Witnesses state 3 or 4 subjects wearing masks demanded money from at least two people at the residence. At least one suspect began shooting, striking the victim. The suspect left the scene, but a concerned citizen saw the vehicle and followed until law enforcement arrived. The vehicle was located in a canal in the Ioka area. One suspect, Travis Thomas, was arrested at the scene, a second suspect, Jason Hare, was arrested following a police chase in Wasatch County. The second suspect was driving a truck reported stolen from the Ioka area. Police are still looking for at least one additional suspect. The victim was flown to a SLC area hospital with non-life threatening Injuries. The case is under active investigation. More details will be made available as the investigation proceeds. Roosevelt Police, Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office, Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter, Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office, and other agencies and multiple citizen tips all assisted in the initial investigation of this case.”
