UDOT Installation of Roosevelt Pedestrian Signals Underway

Safety is the end goal of a UDOT project currently underway in Roosevelt. Roosevelt City provided the update on the pedestrian light projects at two city crossings stating that UDOT crews have been out this week at the intersection of 200 South and Highway 40 installing the pedestrian-activated flasher. “These pedestrian signal projects move pretty quickly,” shares Marty Asay with Frontline Public Involvement. “Monday, crews were able to bore conduit under US-40 and excavate the pole foundation locations. The concrete for the foundations requires several days of cure time before the poles are erected.” This light will improve safety for students walking to and from the Roosevelt Junior High School. The second light will be installed at Clubhouse Drive and SR-121 to replace the lighted signs currently at that crosswalk. Asay says that both projects are expected to be complete and ready for power by the first part of May.
