Roosevelt City Testing Fire Hydrants

by | May 14, 2019 | News | 0 comments

All residents of Roosevelt need to be aware that over the next few days the Roosevelt Fire Department will be testing the fire hydrants. As a result of the testing sediment might start showing up in culinary water. In order to test the hydrants, water is run through the system at very high pressure. The pressure stirs up small sediment that then makes it to your water. Please note that sediment does not indicate contamination. It is normal to see some discoloration or cloudiness in the tap water. All you need to do is run your water for a few minutes to flush your house’s system and to help clear sediment in the pipes. The city thanks residents for their understanding and allowing the fire department to be sure that the hydrants can be used properly for fire fighting needs.
