The jump from elementary school to middle school is a big one and a scheduling change being implemented for 6th grade students in Uintah School District aims at assisting in students’ success. “Uintah Middle School and Vernal Middle School are pleased to introduce changes to the 6th grade schedule designed to help students transition smoothly from elementary to middle school,” shares the announcement. “Beginning this school year, 6th graders at both schools will benefit from enhanced instructional time in core academic subjects. Students will have increased time in English Language Arts, Math, and Science to build a strong foundation in these essential subjects. Elective classes will be offered during the first and last periods of the day, rotating every six weeks for most courses.
