A man was arrested in Duchesne County on Friday due to violations of a protective order and making threats of violence. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, a protective order was issued in March “not to harass or threaten to use physical force that would reasonably be expected to cause bodily harm or engage in any other conduct that would place the protected person or designated family household member in reasonable fear of bodily injury.” 49-year-old Michael Reece Binks was arrested on July 24th due to multiple text messages sent to the protected person stating that he possessed a .357, to “Go ahead call the cops!”, that they won’t take him alive, that he’ll blow the victim’s house up, and more graphic descriptions of violence. The .357 handgun was recovered on scene with a loaded rifle during the arrest. Michael Reece Binks is charged with 3rd Degree Felony Violation of a Protective Order, Prohibited Dangerous Weapon Conduct, and Electronic Communication Harassment.
