USSD1 Invites Community Eyes On Possible Water Leaks In Parks

Uintah Special Service District 1 reports that in recent weeks there has been an unusually high number of water line breaks and irrigation leaks throughout their park system. Current breaks have happened at Naples, Independence, Lapoint, Serenity, Ballard, Ashley Valley Community, and Remember the Maine parks, as well as at ball fields and the Uintah Community Center. “These breaks are happening for a variety of reasons, including aging infrastructure, shifting ground, failing pipe materials, high irrigation demand, pressure changes, and other underground conditions,” shares the announcement. “Unfortunately, many of these leaks aren’t visible until they surface, and some are significant enough to flood turf areas before they’re discovered. Our Parks crew is working hard every day to locate, excavate, and repair these breaks as quickly as possible.” So, if you see standing water, water running where it shouldn’t be, or suspect a water leak, please call the Recreation Center immediately at 435-781-0982. Please call rather than post on social media so that it receives immediate attention.
