New Veterans Memorial Coming To Myton Cemetery

Some special memorials are being added to the Myton Cemetery. Myton resident Bruce Dart approached Myton City for permission to solicit funds for a Veterans Memorial in the Myton Cemetery and thanks to support of citizens and businesses, the cement is scheduled to be poured to start the project next week. The cement will also be poured at that time for an Angel of Hope statue planned for the cemetery as well. Bruce shared that the Veterans Memorial will include several statues, including a bronze kneeling soldier with the gun and helmet cross, as well as a bronze statue of a gold star mother. A chance to see the bronze soldier is happening during Myton Daze this weekend. The Veterans Memorial will also have granite monuments that have been ordered and will be engraved. It’s expected the entire project will be complete in about 3 months, something that Bruce says is long overdue for Myton in order to honor the Veterans buried there. Keep an eye out during the Myton Daze parade on Saturday morning for a glimpse of the bronze soldier with his gun and helmet cross.
