Vernal City has announced further ways they are striving to lead by example and reduce water use. “The water fountains at Cobble Rock Block have been turned off for the season,” shares the announcement. “While the fountains use a small amount of continuously recycled water, the Mayor and City Council felt it was important for the City to demonstrate its commitment to conservation in every practical way.” Vernal City will also not host the Paddle Pond this summer and City staff has been directed to significantly reduce irrigation on City-owned properties as they continue to seek opportunities to conserve water during drought conditions.
