Officers responded to a welfare check in Roosevelt leading them to an alleged victim of an assault. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the victim was reluctant to speak. Officers were able to observe that the victim had a laceration across the bridge of their nose, and numerous bruises on their right forearm and upper arm which were from earlier in the day when Darrell Brewer had allegedly chased the victim around a car, and struck the victim with a wrench type of tool. At times the victim would wince in pain while interviewed. Officers noted that the victim was very distraught and in fear for their life. There was damage to the front driver side quarter panel of the car. 49-year-old Darrell Jay Brewer was eventually located and booked into Duchesne County Jail. Brewer is charged with 3rd Degree Felony Aggravated Assault.
