The Bureau of Land Management opened a 30-day public comment period on Friday to receive public input on plans to include 35 oil and gas parcels totaling 34,596 acres in Utah in a September 2026 sale. The parcels are all on public lands managed by the Vernal Field Office and Moab Field Office. “The BLM completed scoping on these parcels in April 2026 and is now seeking public comment on the parcels and related environmental analysis,” shares the announcement. “The BLM will use input from the public to help complete its review of each parcel. Leasing is the first step in the process to develop federal oil and gas resources.” The public comment period ends June 22.
