An Ohio based nonprofit organization has chosen a Roosevelt student as a recipient of their 2026 Lovis Hero Award. The Lovis Foundation selected Caydance Carter for the award that honors students who demonstrate resilience, determination, and a commitment to uplifting others. After a difficult decision to leave one sport to try wrestling, Caydance struggled through injuries and setbacks while committed to the team. “Yet even in the midst of disappointment and physical pain, Caydance continued to focus on others,” shares the Lovis Foundation announcement. “On the very same day she was placed in a cast after her final injury, Caydance donated more than 50 stuffed animals to a local hospital for children. Her decision to bring comfort and joy to young patients while navigating her own struggles reflected the compassion and selflessness that define her character.” Congratulations to Caydance Carter, recipient of the 2026 Lovis Hero Award.
