2026 UDOT Projects For Northeastern Utah

Road construction season is getting further underway as summer approaches. The top UDOT projects listed for 2026 in northeastern Utah include the following: Fiber optic cables are being installed along Highway 40 for 139 miles from Heber City to the Colorado border. Funding from the Bridge Formula Program will replace bridges in Hanna, Tabiona, and Altonah. Passing lanes on Highway 40 through Fruitland will be extended and turning lanes will be added. A variety of improvements will continue through Indian Canyon on US 191. A soil nail wall will be installed on SR 87 west of Altamont to stabilize the hillside and protect the road. Trail crossing is being added in Cottonwood Creek in Roosevelt. Roadways will be reconstructed in Fort Duchesne to improve safety, including widening road shoulders. The intersection will be widened with safety features added at 1500 West and SR 121 in Vernal. UDOT will assist Daggett County in improving Browns Park Road. Learn more at connect.udot.utah.gov
