Construction is ongoing with the water and sewer improvements along 100 North in Vernal City. Vernal City’s May newsletter shares that Condie Construction is making strong progress as Vernal City works to replace aging utilities and maintain reliable service. There is something residents in the construction area need to know. “Project evaluations have identified that some homes may still be connected to Orangeburg pipe, a material used from the 1940s to early 1970s that can deteriorate over time and become prone to collapse or root intrusion,” shares Vernal City. “The project includes upgrades to public water and sewer mains and a new asphalt roadway. Because homeowners are responsible for the private sewer line connecting their home to the City system, residents may wish to evaluate its condition during construction, as a moratorium will be placed on cutting into the new roadway once the project is complete.” Contact Vernal City for more details.
