The Department of Workforce Services has released the latest employment summary for the state. Utah’s nonfarm payroll employment for March 2026 increased an estimated 0.6% across the past 12 months, with the state’s economy adding a cumulative 10,400 jobs since March 2025. Utah’s current job count stands at 1,768,300. Employment by county includes Daggett County at 366, up slightly from a year ago, Duchesne County at 9,063 which is down by less than a percent from a year ago and Uintah County at 15,753 which is up by less than a percent compared to a year ago. “Total job creation is ahead of the national trend,” shares DWS chief economist Ben Crabb, “but this expansion is mostly concentrated within a handful of industries.” An updated unemployment report is expected to be shared next week.
