The BLM and the Northeastern Utah Mountain Bikers are recruiting volunteers to help on a trail workday. “This workday will focus on regular maintenance for the Corkscrew Mountain Bike Trail, particularly the downhill section that could benefit from some dedicated attention,” shares BLM Outdoor Recreation Planner Adam Lavender. “NUMB and the BLM will also provide shuttles to the top of Corkscrew after work is completed for anyone wishing to ride!” The event is happening on May 16th from 9am to noon at the Halfway Hollow Trailhead 13 miles west of Vernal off Highway 121. Be sure to bring water and snacks, sun protection, sturdy footwear, and a positive attitude and willingness to pitch in. You’re also welcome to bring your bike if you’d like to join in the post‑work ride. Trail maintenance tools, work gloves, and guidance from experienced coordinators will be provided.
