National Corrections Officers Week runs through May 9th and agencies throughout the region are acknowledging this difficult and important field. The Uintah County Sheriff’s Office stated they “would like to recognize all of our corrections deputies for their professionalism, diligence, and dedication to the work they do. They work in what can be a very tough environment, but still show up and get things done.” Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office also shared a tribute: “Today’s corrections professionals are not only focused on safety and security, but also on communication, mental health awareness and recognizing the human factors that come into play in a detention setting. That work matters for the individuals in custody, the staff working alongside them and the communities they return to.” Thank you to all Corrections Officers for the work you do and your commitment to such a demanding field.
