The United States Department of Agriculture has announced that 13 counties in Utah have been designated as Natural Disaster Areas due to the drought and Uintah County and Duchesne County are among that group. This means that the USDA Farm Service Agency is allowed to extend emergency credit to producers through emergency loans to meet various recovery needs. These needs can include the replacement of essential items such as equipment or livestock, reorganization of a farming operation, or to refinance certain debts. The Farm Service Agency reviews the loans based on the extent of losses, security available, and repayment ability. The application deadline is December 10th. The primary counties eligible in Utah are Beaver, Carbon, Duchesne, Emery, Garfield, Grand, Juab, Millard, San Juan, Sevier, Tooele, Uintah, and Wayne.
