Uintah County has shared several updates on the Ashley Gorge Via Ferrata. A restroom is now available at the parking lot. Phase Two of the Ashley Gorge Via Ferrata installation is underway. So far, crews have completed inspections, and you may begin seeing work as new routes are developed. In the coming weeks, a helicopter will be delivering materials for a short period of time. It will not be landing in the gorge. Finally, the Ashley Gorge Via Ferrata Grand Opening is happening May 15. Watch for more details to come.
Uintah County has also offered clarification after questions arose about the fencing. “The fences are in place to protect critical infrastructure and ensure public safety,” shares the County message. “It’s not about limiting access to the area or restricting responsible recreation. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the area by following property rules and staying outside of the fenced areas. Please follow Leave No Trace principles — or better yet, leave it better than you found it.” For rules and more information, visit www.ashleygorgeviaferrata.com.
