Nathan Rawlings recently visited the Evans Family Media studios for an interview as part of the Meet The Candidates series. Rawlings is a Republican running for Uintah County Attorney as a convention only candidate. He is running against incumbent Uintah County Attorney Jaymon Thomas. Rawlings has a varied background in construction, the oil and gas field, and more recently, in the legal field as a lawyer. In his interview, Rawlings explains why he is running, why local law enforcement has publicly endorsed him, and his belief that plea deals have become too lenient. Rawlings said there needs to be better communication and collaboration between the county attorney and law enforcement investigators, especially when they work hard to build cases that are then not prosecuted.
