A teen center is opening in Duchesne High School this month and the community is invited to the ribbon cutting ceremony. Halee Ficklin, District Wellness Advisor for Duchesne County School District, shares that this is especially exciting as the effort is student led. “This space is a true grassroots effort—created by students, for students —with support from dedicated advisors,” explains Halee. “Through our district’s wellness efforts, schools have been given ownership and flexibility to design supports that best meet their students’ needs, and this is a powerful example of that work in action. The Teen Center provides a safe, welcoming space where students can do homework, connect with peers, and participate in activities like games, crafts, and quilting.” The community is invited to the ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, April 20th, at 3pm at Duchesne High School.
