Richard Powell recently visited the Evans Family Media studios for an interview as part of the Meet The Candidate series. Powell is a Republican candidate running for Uintah County Commission Seat A as a convention only candidate. Also running for Uintah County Commission Seat A is Randy Vincent, Keith Campbell, Matt Wilber, and Isaac Weston as a write-in candidate. Powell has worked in the oil and gas industry for 25 years and is currently with the Utah Division of Oil, Gas, and Mining as the program manager over the underground injection control program. He is also a small-scale rancher, irrigator, and farmer. In his interview, Powell shares his thoughts on supporting the oil and gas industry, access to public lands, advocating for Uintah County while working with state leadership, water issues, county culture, taxes, mineral lease funds, and more.
