Uintah County Executive Officers Compensation Clarified

The public hearing on Tuesday revisiting the Uintah County Executive Officers compensation was to fix an oversight, not to make any changes to executive officers salary and base pay. Under Utah code, a public hearing is held anytime there’s a potential of any kind of wage change and in the last public hearing concerning executive officers compensation that was held in September of 2025, it was neglected to include a long standing county program for employees to earn merit and service awards. During Tuesday’s meeting, it was explained that this includes, for example, a wellness program where employees can participate in goals for physical fitness for a $100 bonus. In order for executive officers to be included in these programs, it needed to be included in the public hearing, which did not happen last fall. Tuesday’s public hearing rectified that oversight. Public input was welcomed and received.
