Ballard Water and Sewer Improvement District has announced a rate increase and declared water conservation to be a high priority. “All of the western United States is in a drought situation and we are no different,” shares the announcement. “We purchase our water from the Ute Tribe and have been advised that the springs are below needed levels to provide water to all the customers currently being served by them. At the present time we are directing that water conservation must be a high priority in each home, therefore it is necessary that Ballard Water District implement the conservation rate increase at this time, beginning April 1st, anticipated to last through the summer months.” Ballard Water District instructed users to please limit outdoor watering to once a week and offered tips,  including readjusting sprinklers, investing in a rain switch or moisture sensor, avoiding runoff, adjusting your timer with weather changes, and using the right sprinkler in the right place.
