The Utah Department of Natural Resources Division of Law Enforcement shared a water safety message following the tragic announcement that a body had been recovered from Starvation Reservoir earlier this month. The 67-year-old male from Salt Lake County was recovered from the reservoir on March 19th after being reported missing the day before. In their announcement, the agency shared that the man was not wearing a life jacket, prompting the safety message. “When boating, wear a life jacket, and inform someone of your plans, including your expected return time. It’s also crucial to check weather and water conditions. Be sure to pack the right gear for your activity and stay hydrated while outdoors.” To learn more about boating laws and rules, visit boating.utah.gov
