Ice fishing tournaments have been a bust for a few years so enthusiasts are taking a new approach this year. Rather than an ice fishing event, Disabled Outdoorsmen Utah is teaming up with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources for a 2026 Youth Fishing Event at Steinaker State Park on May 2nd. “This free family-friendly event is open to everyone, even if your kids have never fished before,” shares the announcement. “The DWR will provide tackle and fishing poles to those who do not have equipment.” Registration will close on Wednesday, April 29th. All participants (including supervising adults) MUST be registered before competing in the fishing event and all rules of the 2026 Utah Fishing Guidebook must be followed.
