A five-week federal standoff over funding the Department of Homeland Security is affecting airports across the nation. The Vernal Regional Airport has continued to function as TSA employees continue to work even though it has been without pay. In response, concerned community members have set up a food drive to help these TSA agents and their families. Food drive boxes are set up at Davis Jubilee and Smith’s in Vernal. Donated items will be picked up daily and delivered to the officers at the airport. There are 7 agents who have been working without pay for over 5 weeks. Any donations, excluding cash, are greatly appreciated!
