The Daggett County Commission gave a positive report on local tourism in this month’s Daggett County Fence Post Commissioner Corner. “Daggett County saw an impressive 13% increase in visitor spending,” shares the Commissioners. “This positive trend stands in contrast to many other Utah counties, some of which experienced a decline by as much as 34%. This growth is a testament to the unique appeal of our county and the dedication of our local community. It reflects the hard work and commitment of all our local businesses, which consistently provide exceptional service and hospitality.” The Commission also made an exciting announcement in the Commissioner Corner. The Utah Film Association is set to provide a commemorative plaque to Daggett County honoring the filming of the 1972 movie ‘Jeremiah Johnson’, starring Robert Redford, in the region. “This recognition will highlight Daggett County’s stunning natural landscape as a prime filming location and connect our present-day tourism efforts with a rich cinematic heritage,” shares the Commission. “Overall, Daggett County enjoyed an exceptionally successful year in terms of tourism benefits, proving our resilience and growing appeal as a premier destination in Utah.”
