The Bureau of Land Management announced the opening of a 30-day public comment period to receive public input on plans for the upcoming sale of oil and gas leases. The announcement states that the sale will include 39 oil and gas parcels totaling 54,114 acres in Utah and the comment period ends March 30th. The parcels are largely located in Uintah County with the total split between the BLM’s Vernal Field Office and the Moab Field Office. The BLM completed scoping on these parcels in January 2026 and is now seeking public comment to help complete its review of each parcel. The 39 parcels have been nominated to be included in the BLM Utah 2026 Second Quarter Oil and Gas Lease Sale in June.
