Diligence and hard work have paid off as the Uintah Basin Youth Chamber Orchestra is prepared to entertain the community this Friday with their ‘Music at the Movies’ Concert at the Crossroads Community Center. The seasoned members of the organization are joined by some new talent for this exciting performance. This is the first concert with the youth orchestra for 14-year-old Marcie Duncan of Roosevelt who plays the Viola. Marcie says she enjoys meeting such talented musicians through the youth orchestra and knows the audience will recognize and enjoy the fun and beautiful songs featured in Friday’s concert. 13-year-old Ryker Madson of Vernal is also new to the orchestra for this concert, bringing his talent as a pianist to the group. “The Uintah Basin Youth Chamber Orchestra is a really great group of youth from all over the Uintah Basin,” shares Ryker. “Everyone is so talented!! Even though we are young musicians, we are playing really advanced music. It has been an amazing experience to play the piano along with the other instruments. We are playing some really fun songs from different movies,” adds Ryker, “so come and be entertained while you listen to some amazing talent at the ‘Music at the Movies’ Concert.” The free concert is this Friday, February 27th, at 7pm at the Crossroads Community Center in Roosevelt.
