Those that have any plans in the eastern Uinta Mountains this week, pay attention. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect starting late tonight at 11pm and running through Thursday at 5am. This is for the eastern Uinta Mountains above 7000 feet where snow is expected. Total snow accumulations are expected to be between 5 and 10 inches with locally higher amounts possible. Winds are expected to be gusting as high as 60 mph. “Travel could be very difficult,” shares the advisory. “Blowing snow may result in near zero visibility at times. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes. Strong winds could cause tree damage. Slow down and use caution while traveling.” Always check the latest road conditions before traveling through the affected area. These can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
