The much anticipated opening of Uintah Theatre’s production of ‘Disney’s Frozen: The Broadway Musical’ is less than a month away and the excited reception by the community can already be felt. The opportunity to bring Frozen to the Uintah High Auditorium stage has long been on the radar of Director Christopher Piner. “I first saw the pre-Broadway tryout of Frozen in Denver back in 2017 and instantly fell in love with how beautifully the story translated to the stage,” shares Piner. “Even after the film’s songs had been everywhere for years, the theatrical version felt fresh, emotional, and magical. I was fortunate enough to see it again on Broadway and on tour, and I knew one day I wanted our students to experience performing it. When the licensing rights finally opened last August, I applied the same day.” Something special about this production is that it involves more than just the talented high school students. “Our creative team has gone all in to make this another Uintah Theatre stunner,” says Piner. “We have one of our largest casts in recent years—including elementary students, middle schoolers, and high school performers—and some truly beautiful special effects. I can’t wait for audiences to see what these students can do.” Tickets are available at Uintah.Ludus.com and the show runs select nights March 6th through the 14th.
