Improvements have continued on a major connector road for Uintah County. According to Uintah Transportation Special Service District Board Chairman Duane Shepherd, paving is underway on the Red Wash Road project and, weather permitting, will be complete by the end of the month. A small section of the road was done several years ago but the current project includes a realignment. “There’s 4 miles of the road on the north end that still needs to be finished but will be done at a later date,” explains Shepherd. “Red Wash Road is an important project because there is a lot of oil and gas activity down there and the road was falling apart. We were able to get a good price on all the materials and we were only responsible for a small portion. The rest was done on a grant.”
