Vernal City is ready to present the community square concept plans for the Lamplighter block property on Main Street between 100 East, 200 East, and 100 South. “The plans reflect an extensive public engagement process, which included site visits last spring, stakeholder interviews, a public open house, a resident survey, a comment table at balloonfest, and an additional resident preference survey,” shares Vernal City Manager Quinn Bennion. “The feedback, comments, and themes from these efforts were compiled and incorporated into the concept plan.” A public meeting to review the Lamplighter block concept plans is scheduled for February 4th at 5pm in the Community Room of the Vernal City building. The City Council will be meeting for their regular city council meeting afterwards at 6pm and will be considering approval of a contract with Alta Construction for the demolition of the motel portion on the Lamplighter block.
