The Uintah Boys Wrestling team showed up in full force over the weekend for the 4A Division A tournament and not only did they win, they accomplished something new. The team won over Mountain View by 109 points and had 28 wrestlers qualify for state with one state alternate. “That’s the highest number of state qualifiers we’ve ever had,” shared Coach Phillip Keddy. Champions in their weight class were Gavin DeCol, Ethan Sharp, Maddax Hacking, Rykan Hacking, Peyton Hogan, and Rodney Sabin. Ute wrestlers that took 2nd place were Joshua Garcia, Drayger Cloward, Gage Mcmickell, and Caden Young. There were many others that also made the podium. Good luck to the Uintah Boys Wrestling team at the 4A State Tournament on February 13th and 14th at the UCCU Center in Orem.
