Report Of Firearm On Bus A False Alarm

A report of a firearm on a bus in Duchesne County on Tuesday was thankfully a false alarm. Roosevelt City Police Department reported that on January 27th between 3 and 4pm, a report was received by Duchesne County School District that a gun was present on a bus after school. “Duchesne County School District contacted Roosevelt City Police and together Roosevelt City Police and school administrators that were present on scene escorted the children safely off the bus during the investigation. Following the investigation, it was determined that no gun was present on the bus. All children were safe and returned back on the bus and returned home safely. From this investigation conducted with Roosevelt City Police and school administration, it was determined that there was no credible threat towards students, staff, or public.” The Roosevelt City Police Department emphasized that they take all reported safety concerns against students and public seriously and will investigate them thoroughly.
