U.S. Census data was used to provide a breakdown of Utah’s population growth. Utah’s population grew by 60,400 between 2023 and 2024 and that 1.8% annual increase was primarily driven by immigration to the state. In the decade between 2014 and 2024, Utah’s population grew by 18.7%. Since the year 2000, Utah has steadily grown each year but one part of northeastern Utah does not keep with the state’s trend. Daggett County was named the county in Utah with the biggest decrease in population for the year with 956 residents, reflecting a 1.7% decrease. Uintah County reflected an increase of 1.1% for a population total of 38,307. Duchesne County reflected an increase of 1.3% for a population total of 20,803. To learn more, visit usafacts.org.
