Compliance Check Ends In Drug Arrest In Lapoint

On January 15th, a compliance check at a Lapoint residence resulted in arrest. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, multiple individuals were inside the residence, including Laura Moore in a bedroom. Inside the room, officers discovered drug paraphernalia with testable amounts of narcotics. Moore admitted that she had used methamphetamine that morning using a homemade bong that was found in the top drawer of the dresser. 43-year-old Laura Beth Moore was placed under arrest. A records check revealed that Moore has a prior conviction for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a third-degree felony. Due to this prior conviction, her current possession of a controlled substance charge was enhanced to a third-degree felony. Moore was transported to the Uintah County Jail where she was booked on the charges.
