Students came to impress at the 2026 Utah State University Uintah Basin Middle School Science and Engineering Fair held last week at the Uintah Conference Center. Uintah School District shared that the room was full of imaginative and well-researched projects from 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students from the Uintah School District, The Terra Academy, and those who home school. The 6th grade winners are Vesper Edwards in Biological Sciences, Bradley Butterfield in Engineering, Derrick Hunter in Physical Sciences, and Keira Warburton in Social Sciences. 7th grade winners are Samuel Peirce in Biological Sciences, Nadia Wong in Engineering, Cole Murphy in Physical Sciences, and Aubri Long in Social Sciences. 8th grade winners are Kate Sorenson in Biological Sciences, Benjamin Van Wagoner in Engineering, Liam Day in Physical Sciences, and Trevor Caldwell in Social Sciences. The top 3 students in each category qualified to compete at the 2026 University of Utah Science and Engineering Fair on March 11th and 12th.
