The Cottonwood Apartments in Roosevelt were without power on Sunday after a fight ended in an arrest for property destruction, assault and DUI. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, a couple fighting led to the woman, identified as Esperanza Martinez, getting into her boyfriend’s truck and ramming it into her car, running over the power box for the entire apartment complex causing the power to go out. Responding officers spoke with Martinez and her boyfriend and could smell the strong odor of alcohol coming from Martinez. After blowing a .157 on a breath test, she was placed under arrest. 24-year-old Esperanza Marie Raina Martinez is charged with 3rd Degree Felony Property Destruction, Assault with Substantial Bodily Injury, 2nd Offense DUI, and for being an Alcohol Restricted Driver.
