Where To Spot Eagles During Winter Migration

It’s a great time of year to keep an eye out for bald eagles traveling during winter migration. It’s no wonder that most people get a thrill out of spotting an eagle out in nature. America’s national bird has a wingspan of 6 to 7 feet, can fly up to 30 miles an hour, and when diving, can reach 100 miles an hour. Great places to spot eagles in northeastern Utah include along the Green River, at the Ouray National Wildlife Refuge, and at Midview Reservoir, northeast of Bridgeland. The DWR reminds all that if you’re driving and looking for eagles at any of the locations, please do so safely. Don’t drive distracted, and don’t stop in the middle of the road if you see an eagle. Instead, pull completely off the road before viewing. Your safety, and the safety of other motorists, comes first.
