Remember The Maine Park Pavilion Torn Down/To Be Replaced

Remember the Maine Park up Dry Fork Canyon will have some noticeable changes when reopened this spring and summer. According to Uintah Special Service District 1 Executive Director Cheryl Meier, the pavilion is being redone and a sidewalk will be added to the bathroom to make it ADA compliant. “A lot of county and community events happen out at Remember the Maine and it was time for an upgrade,” explains Meier. “The pavilion became a safety hazard after the winter of 2022-2023 when there was excessive snow. There was so much weight on the pavilion that at any time it could have come down.” They knew at that time the pavilion would need replaced but milder winters bought some time to plan and this winter the contractor was available for the project. Remember the Maine Park is always closed during winter months and demolition of the pavilion has now taken place. Meier says the new structure has been ordered and they hope to have it up by mid February. The project is being funded through the capital projects budget and will not go above $400,000. The hope is to have the entire project complete before the typical April 1st opening of the park but it will be ready for sure before the busy summer season.
